The main role of a nurse is to provide care and provide services that help regain, restore, recover or promote health. A Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional licensed to deliver nursing care under the supervision of a Physician. An RN also does the following:
- Assess a client’s medical condition and implement certain nursing measures or perform specific orders made by the physician in order to promote the well being of the client.
- Administering medications and injections
- Performing finger sticks and administering insulin
- Wound care
- Tracheostomy Care
- Foley catheter insertion/Straight catheterization
- Teach family or the client about the client’s diagnosis in accordance with maintaining the highest possible quality of life.
